ImageBanner supports background video uploads
ImageBanner is not limited to static images. Background video uploads are supported in production.
What to expect
- You can upload a background video for an ImageBanner.
- If you were trying to use animation because the image field would not accept a
.webmfile, use the banner's video/background-video capability instead of treating the file as a static image. - For the new banner experience, the slider-based implementation is used, and video is supported there as well.
Troubleshooting
If a .webm file is rejected specifically by an image-only upload field, that does not mean video banners are unsupported overall. It usually means the media needs to be uploaded through the banner's video/background-video path rather than the image field.
