When to use an Item image background vs. the store card background color

Items can appear with either a simple card color or a separate image background. Which option you should use depends on the visual effect you want.

If you only want a solid color behind the item, use the store card background color.

When to use an Item image background

Use an Item image background only when you want something more than a solid color, such as:

• A textured or patterned background

• A gradient or other non-solid visual treatment

• Custom artwork behind the item

Best practice

• Solid color only: Use the store card background color.

• Custom visual/background art: Use an Item image background.

This keeps item styling more consistent and avoids using image backgrounds when a simple color setting will do the job.
