Sandbox storefront access issues: 404 errors and wrong currency display
If a teammate gets a 404 when opening a sandbox storefront link, the most common cause is that the browser is already signed in with a different Google account than the one allowed for sandbox access.
Why this happens
Sandbox storefront access is tied to the Google account used in the browser session. A user may be silently authenticated with the Google account that is already pre-authorized in the browser, so they may not see an email prompt before the page opens.
How to troubleshoot a 404 on sandbox
- Confirm which Google account should have access.
- Ask the user to open the sandbox link in a browser where they are signed in to that exact Google account.
- If the browser is signed in to a different Google account, log out and sign back in with the allowed account.
- If needed, retry in Chrome after re-authenticating with the correct Google account.
In the reviewed case, access started working after the user signed in to Chrome with the correct Google account.
Sandbox currency display
If the sandbox storefront shows prices in EUR but the tester needs USD, there are two supported checks:
- Switch the sandbox country selector to United States. This selector is available only on sandbox.
- If needed, use a US VPN.
For sandbox testing, changing the country to United States is the preferred quick check when available.
