Known payment behaviors: visible CVV field and Revolut merchant name display

This article explains two payment-related behaviors that may be reported during checkout testing or by players.

CVV field is not masked

The CVV input field is intentionally not masked.

This is a product decision made to reduce input mistakes during checkout. According to the guidance shared by the team, masking the CVV is not required by security standards, so leaving the field visible is expected behavior and is not considered a bug.

If a team asks whether the CVV should be hidden, support can clarify that:

• the current behavior is intentional;
• it helps reduce entry errors;
• it is not a compliance issue based on the current implementation guidance.

Revolut may show an unexpected merchant name

Some Revolut cardholders may see an unexpected merchant name in the Revolut app transaction view, such as another product name instead of the expected project or merchant label.

Based on investigation with multiple payment providers, this appears to be a known Revolut-side behavior. Revolut may display the payment description using its own internal rules rather than always showing the description passed by us.

This means:

• the merchant name shown in Revolut is not always fully controlled by our payment setup;
• the issue may affect more than one project;
• it is not necessarily evidence that the payment was processed incorrectly.

Current mitigation for Revolut

Revolut cards were switched to a different account configuration where the payment description should display Aghanim.

For new users, the merchant description should now appear correctly. However, because Revolut controls how it renders transaction descriptions, support should avoid promising that every historical or edge-case transaction label can be corrected immediately.

Suggested support response

If a player or internal team asks about these behaviors, support can respond along these lines:

• Visible CVV: this is intentional and not a security-standard violation.
• Revolut merchant name: Revolut may display transaction descriptions according to its own rules; a mitigation has been applied so new Revolut users should now see Aghanim correctly.
