Creator analytics metrics: Orders, attributed users, unique buyers, and AOV behavior

This article explains how key metrics in the creator analytics dashboard are currently calculated and why they may differ from internal game or webshop reporting.

Orders

Orders includes transactions attributed to the creator flow. This includes:

  • cash purchases, and

  • purchases made with virtual currencies such as VC/RP.

A transaction can be counted as creator-attributed if the user either:

  • came through a creator link earlier, or

  • used a creator-related promo code at checkout.

Because virtual-currency purchases can be included, the Orders count may be higher than a cash-only report from your own database.

Revenue and order_total_usd

In exports, order_total_usd is provided in minor units (for example, 954 means $9.54).

Some attributed orders may have an empty or zero order_total_usd because they were completed with virtual currency rather than cash.

AOV and median check

At the time of writing, zero-value order_total_usd orders are being included in average and median check calculations. This behavior is incorrect and is planned to be fixed.

As a result:

  • Orders × AOV may not match dashboard revenue, and

  • AOV / median check may look lower than expected if many attributed orders were paid with VC/RP or otherwise have zero-value totals.

Attributed users

Attributed users are unique users, identified by player_id, who during the selected period either:

  • clicked a creator link, or

  • entered a creator-related promo code at checkout.

These users may or may not make a purchase.

Unique buyers

Unique buyers are users who completed a creator-attributed purchase.

This number can be higher than Attributed users. That can happen because purchase data is collected server-to-server and is considered fully reliable, while behavioral attribution signals (such as page visits or promo-link visits) depend on client-side collection, consent, and non-guaranteed delivery.

Why dashboard numbers may differ from your own reports

Differences usually come from one or more of the following:

  • your report includes only cash purchases, while dashboard Orders also includes VC/RP purchases;

  • purchase exports contain order_total_usd in minor units;

  • AOV and median check may currently include zero-value orders;

  • behavioral attribution data and payment data have different collection methods and reliability characteristics.

Planned improvements

  • A fix to exclude zero-value order_total_usd orders from average and median check calculations.

  • A dashboard filter to separate cash orders from virtual-currency orders.
